What we do

Content

Collective Newsroom produces and publishes content for BBC audiences across India and beyond, on digital as well as linear platforms like TV.

Digital journalism

We create original and distinctive content for BBC's Indian language websites and social platforms.

  • Our journalism is anchored in rigorous fact-checking, ensuring every story is accurate, balanced and credible.
  • We lay strong emphasis on amplifying underrepresented voices, explain global narratives and local relevance.
  • We report news and events in diverse formats including ground reports, explainers, analysis, videos, reels and podcasts in addition to text.
  • This compelling content has cemented India as BBC’s top global market, reaching nearly 80 million people every week.

TV programmes

Our Delhi bureau is equipped with cutting-edge television, digital, and audio studios and production facilities. The studios are used to produce and broadcast daily bulletins on prominent Indian TV channels for BBC News.

  • BBC News Hindi's "Duniya" is our most-watched television news bulletin produced for News24. This 18-minute offer brings the best of the BBC News global coverage to its Hindi audience at 10 pm IST every weekday. The bulletin maintains its focus on India's neighbourhood, including countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while also covering issues concerning India's diaspora whether in the US, Canada, the UK or elsewhere.
  • BBC News Tamil's "Ulaga Seithi Arikai" is a ten-minute capsule that focuses on the best international news stories, ground reports and snippets that are relevant to the Tamil audience. Produced for Thanthi TV and telecast at 7:45 pm IST every weekday, it gets an average weekly reach of 9.1 million.
  • BBC News Telugu's "Prapancham" offers a snapshot of the most significant global, national, and regional developments for the Telugu-speaking audience. Produced and presented for the HM TV audience for 11 minutes, the bulletin is a fast-paced offer that informs, educates, explains, and entertains every weekday at 8 pm IST.
  • The studios and broadcast facilities are also used for digital productions. Presenter-led explainers, live shows, digital audio programmes, chroma-based productions etc are regularly supported by a highly skilled production operations team.
